My First Mother's Day!

Happy Mum's Day~

I have been extremely busy lately that blogging seemed impossible! But today, I have to make an exception since it is my first Mother's Day as a mum. My kid is too small to do any heart-melting gestures so it was not really an extraordinary day. However, Hasben did something sweet on behalf of Kimi - a cute card for lil old me~! Yeaah!!

TQ dearest!~

At 1PM, we went for our first Aussie theatre - Cinderella. It was a cute play, enjoyed by me, Hasben and our Malaysian friends. Kimi? He slept halfway and tried to join the act by screaming. Overall, he behaved well so he passed the test for future cinema activities (provided he can have his milk ASAP)...

In the evening, I tried my hands on baking my first chocolate cake - so-called Mother's Day cake - which turned out dreadful! It was nearly 2 hours in the oven but the inside was still undercooked, while the outside was nearly burnt! Hah! At times like this... I really miss Secret Recipe!!

This is suppose to be a cake... in case you're wondering...

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! This time around, Prince Court is not in the picture - being full-time students, we can only afford to attend Toowoomba Base Hospital, a government hospital so this will be a whole new experience for me, not to mention being in a whole different country! The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia.
