Sunshine Theme Stroller Bag By Me! Date: 24-25 June 2011 Yes ... It's the weekendsss!! Time to express my creativity - my Jimmy Choo-y! I was super excited to start my project to design and sew my baby's stroller cover. The Quinny Zapp Xtra must be seperated into 2 units upon folding - the frame and the seat. Since the stroller is quite expensive, I must take special care to ensure it will last until my 10th baby, haha! - Hence the idea to cover the seat with a proper bag. Hasben and I went to Kamdar to purchase 3 meters of orange cloth. I borrowed Mak's sewing machine and sacrificed an unused coverall for the zip and yellow cloth. It took me 1.5 days for my creation to be completed. Measurement process. Sewing process. The bag is too big for the stroller seat!! I felt so dissapointed and spent the rest of the night thinking about the counter measures. Success!! Some alteration here and there... Walla! Not really cute, ugly even, but it serves its purpose... *sm

Weekend of Boredom! Date: 11 June 2011 Life can be a bit slow especially in weekends at Paka. JulieZac is at her parents', my family is so far away in the west coast, and I have only Hasben to listen to my naggings. Anyway, back to the story of Little Popiah. After being offered a popiah simpul inti serunding by an offismate, I was determined to make my very first popiah kecik . Hasben helped out and we ended up with popiah inti sadin with really ugly shapes! Haha! It shows how boredom can spark 'creative' innovations! My first try - I don't know how to simpul it!! From my observation during my travels, developed countries are more rigorously adopting environmental friendly ways to avoid the usage of plastic bags and polystyrene, and perfoming other means to preserve a clean environment for their future generations. Malaysia, being a developing country, from my point of view, is still concentrating hard on city developments, education and sports. However, we are getting there... With the implementation of no plastic bags on Saturdays, Malaysians are doing their part on making our country a cleaner place. Damaged trapezoidal drain From visual observation, defect may be caused by: Differential soil settlement below and on the sides of the trapezoidal drain. This causes drain structure to move unevenly. Results in crack of drain. Through these cracks, water seepages occur. The flow loosens and erodes the soil that supports the drain. Settlement increases with time. Recommendation: To reconstruct the monsoon drain using precast U-drain . Advantages: 1. Precast – quality of work can be controlled. 2. Shorter duration of work completion - faster speed of construction. 3. U-shape of drain requires less working space thus will not affect trenches and piping. 4. We did see it coming as the whole family gathered at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru for nearly 2 days after receiving a message from the hospital that my grandfather was in a coma and may never wake up. He suffered from diabetes and had a serious asthma problem since I can remember. Atok and Nenek - The Youngsters. A few weeks back, neighbours forced and sent him to the hospital as they noticed that his skin problem was getting serious. He was not the hospital-type-man, a common thing amongst old men I guess. They performed surgery on his skin and just 1 week ago, my Pak Su said that he was recovering and could not wait to leave the hospital. 2 Jan 2011 - The last time I visited Atok in Kulai. I am not sure how he ended up in a coma, something about choking while eating and asthma thingy... But we all know, when Allah says it's your time, the reason is really insignificant.
