Tutorial: Nursing Poncho

Image
The Simplest Nursing Poncho Tutorial! If you don't really mind how you look while breastfeeding, and your only concern is practicality... and you want to make your own nursing poncho, I think this poncho is for you. It will take about 1 hour to complete, if you include toilet and lunch breaks =) !! Things you need: 1. Sewing machine 2. 1 meter x 1 meter fabric of your choice 3. Thread, scissors Steps: 1. Cut fabric in half, from one corner to the opposite corner. You will have 2 pieces of triangle shaped cloths. 2. Sew the seam all around. 3. Place both cloths on top of each other, with the patterns facing inwards. Sew symmetrically from the edges, up to the point where you feel that the neck hole is wide enough to fit your head and to peek your baby. 4. Done!!! Breastfeeding for the Not-So-Lucky Mommies

Image
A Literally Painful Experience... Beware of biting baby!!! It's great how millennium mommies are very aware on the benefits of breast milk for their babies. Sharing of pictures of frozen breast milk is nothing unusual on my Facebook wall. Most of them are lucky to be able to direct feed their babies with no problem whatsoever. This lucky ladies often wonder why some mommies are not breastfeeding their children. To them, it is simple: Put baby's mouth near the breast... and wallah..! Hmmm... If this is the case, be very grateful. God has given you powerful nipples! Those other unlucky ladies, however, may not be as blessed as you are. Babies who cannot latch on or painful breastfeeding experience, may be some of the problems faced. To me, seeing my baby for the first few days of his life really scared me. The nurses were bringing him to me and saying, " Mommy, baby is hungry~ " And I would be like (silently)," Oh NO !!!" Cracked nipples, which some

Bribie Island, QLD, Australia

Date: 11 April 2013    Exploring Bribie during Toowoomba Show Day. Pumicestone Passage separates Bribie from the mainland. Kimi wasn't feeling so well... It must be due to the transition from summer to autumn. Half of the kids in his class were absent, including him. He was coughing and had a cold - was breathing through his mouth =( . But... we dragged him anyway to Bribie Island. And it was a decision we had to pay - He was moody all day! There were moments when he was normal, actively running here and there... and there were moments when he was crying for no reasons at all. It was a really loooong car ride! Gatton - photo stop of the gorgeous countryside! Bribie is located in the north of Brisbane. A large part of the island is a national park that requires a 4WD to be explored.  The jetty... We went for a bush walk at the art gallery. The waterhole - with pink water lilies! We were planning to do some canoeing but it started to rain

My Simple Dress!

Image
Date: 1 April 2013 Spotlight was having an Easter sale, so it means, time to stock up on some fabrics! I could not wait to try this tutorial:  30 Minutes $6 Dress . Sounds easy and cheap! So I had my supplies: $2 clearance T-shirt from K-Mart. Clearance fabric from Spotlight. I sew on an elastic band after reading some comments saying that they couldn't wear the dress without bursting the stitches. And instead of tying the belt, I decided to sew it on because I am not really an accessory-person. After 3 hours, NOT 30 minutes, the dress was ready! I guess for a first try, it was okay. Hope I can find some cheap T-shirts to be sacrificed next, hehe. Hasben says it looks like... an apron!!! Model x cukup syarat.. = p

Plastic Bag Holder

Image
Organizing the Plastic Bags! The internet is the coolest invention of the 20th century... Without it, I couldn't imagine such an idea from other crafty ladies! Something to store plastic bags and allow easy retrieval - that you can make at home! So, here is my version: 3 pieces of fabrics. Smaller ones for the borders. The larger one is for the holder. Elastic band for the bottom end, to allow older plastic bags to be removed first. Ribbon at top part for refilling.  Looks like a hanging pillow, hihi... But I guess it will make a lovely kitchen decoration = )

Me and Spidy!

Guess who came to visit? It's the long Easter weekend and we're not doing anything really. Went to visit Zana's new baby boy for his akikah yesterday, and that was basically it. So on our last free day before the routine starts again, we had some extreme photo shoot (Haha!). By the way, I love Photoscape - simple and fun to use, plus it's free! It feels good to be goofy at times (^ u ^)Y
