Pyjamas Floor Mat

Image
You know when you have that certain favourite nightgown, you keep wearing it over and over again until it looks so hideous, and your Hasben keeps hinting you to buy a replacement while quoting some ustaz lecture on ' perempuan dengan baju kelawarnya yang satu ',  well I have about 5 of those. And I have loads of comfy old pants with loose waist bands that slip off easily when Afi decides to grab on my legs. I had the blue pants since 10 years back (?!)   Well anyway, I ignored being sentimental and used these two as fabrics for making over this floor mat that Kak Das gave me. The floor mat had holes on them so I decided to fix it.  And now it looks cuter. But a bit slippery on the kitchen floor, yikes!  Kaki kecik merasmikan alas kaki And another makeover was on a plain maroon cushion cover that was a very old project that I finally completed today. Now it matches my heart cushion (^u^) <3

Crochet Headband

Finally finished my first baby headband made using crochet. Took me forever but was amazed that I could actually do it. Haven't got a girl model so opt to use this boy model instead, hihi ;p This one is for baby Iman :)

Boreen Point Campground, Sunshine Coast, Qld.

Image
Date: 21-23 November 2015 Was supposed to bring WinZie for her OZ camping experience to Boreen Point 3 months ago but due to bad weather, we had to postpone this visit. So Hasben said that for my 31st birthday, the present will be a travelling package to Noosa, Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. Furthermore, the 3-month-postpone duration set by the campground was nearly up. After exploring Noosa National Park, we checked-in at Boreen Point at about 4PM. However, once we found our camping spot, bad luck ascended. Hasben hit a BBQ stand while reversing the car, breaking a bit of his rare light and dented the bonnet. That changed the mood a bit. Anyway, we set up our campground as fast as we could, while the kids were sleeping in the car. Our site was located at the best possible location, very close to the toilets and shower, and just a stone throw away from the Lake Cootharaba. All in all, it was a great place for camping with kids as the lake was superb! It is very shallo

Eid Al-Adha

Image
Date: 24 September 2015 After 3 years of living in Toowoomba, shamefully, I have to admit that this is the first time I actually went for Eid prayers. The reason was mostly because of the kids, but, oversleeping was partly to blame. However, this year, I was so determined to go that I bathe the kids before sleeping and prepared their jubah the night before. And yes, the whole family made it to the bowling hall in the CBD at 7.15am. As the mosque was too small, the Islamic society had to rent a hall for the Eid prayer. With the imam.  I didn't cook much, just a simple dish of sate, nasi impit and kuah kacang. And I ate them alone. A very different environment than back home in Malaysia where Eid is all about feasting with extended family and friends. Alhamdulillah, we performed akikah for Afi this year, slaughtered 2 lambs. While Hasben went to Brother Yahya's farm to slaughter the lambs (yes, he did it himself, very proud of him), me and the boys slept for

Supermoon!

Image
Date: 28 September 2015 The Northern Hemisphere had witnessed a total lunar eclipse yesterday, with the moon appearing larger than usual. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, the moon looked super bright, absolutely gorgeous! It lighted up the sky, highlighting the clouds around it. This was right in front of my house: Anyways, had a bit of a laugh with Kimi's new vocab. A few days back: Me: Kimi please open the door for me. Kimi opens door... Me: Thank you my darling~ Kimi: You're welcome my big people... (^u^)~

Flipsters: Foldable Sandals

Image
Here are the boots I bought from Skechers for $10 from DFO Brisbane. Amazing bargain, I know. Totally excited to wear them. Even though they have like a 2-inch wedge, I was pretty confident to wear them all day to North Stradbroke Island. I didn't even bring spare shoes or slippers. Big mistake. With boots so high for my standard, I decided to bush walk for 5 KM to Blue Lake. The pain! The agony! The blisters! Miraculously, in the bag pack I was carrying, I brought along my emergency sandals. I have never worn them before, bought them maybe around last year. I just have this thing for 'foldable'/'collapsible' gadgets. Alhamdulillah! They are total life savers. Cute, tiny, handy, lightweight, comes in its own bag, and designed in Australia. Love it! So for the remaining part of the trip, I was wearing these sandals, finally, putting it to good use.

Tabletop Mountain, Toowoomba, QLD.

Image
Date: 26 August 2015 Just got back from hiking up Tabletop Mountain, and it wasn't easy. Went with WinZie, leaving the kids with Hasben at home. This has got to be the toughest bushwalking I have ever experienced. Not suitable for my 4 year old son, nor his 1 year old brother! So this sisterly trip started at 7.30am and it took us an hour to reach the top. My stamina was really bad, I was panting the whole way up. Parked our car at Tabletop Drive, and was so enthusiastic: The climb was really steep, even from the very beginning of the track: About half an hour of hiking, I initially thought we were nearly there: The awesome view on top of the crest: Apparently, we only just made it over this 'little' hill: This is the foot of the actual Tabletop Mountain (long way to go!): We had to climb over more rocks before finally reaching the top. Had a view of the giant Australian flag at Picnic Point and the highway up Toowoomba Range: Th

Lavender at Laurel Bank Park, Toowoomba.

Image
Date: 13 August 2015 Laurel Bank Park is one of my favourite places for evening walks. Just noticed there was a little area behind the BBQ shelters that I have never explored before. Thanks to Hana who shared a picture of her mom with lavenders, I thought Lil Sis would enjoy it too. We visited the park in the late evening, so the sun was nearly setting. There was also a little fountain with ducks which Kimi enjoyed the most, and a little bridge - great for photoshoots. And here is Hasben, posing happily (^u^) :

Ravensbourne National Park, Qld.

Image
Date: 9th August 2015 Lil sis is hear for a month and she is itching to get out of the house. Babysitting the nephews must have drained out all of her energy. So her first trip was a picnic up Ravensbourne NP, about an hour drive from Toowoomba.. We spent the evening just enjoying the beautiful mountain view of the Great Dividing Range, while the sun sets slowly behind us. An absolutely perfect weather for a picnic and some family time ;)

Popiah Fail!

Image
This is a very depressing day for me. In a normal day, my food are more or less edible. But today, my popiah was, how should I say this, horrifically revolting. Asyik share gamba masakan yang menjadi, kali ini, saya ingin kongsikan masakan gagal. Sekali gigit, suami pasti pengsan. Jangan cuba resepi ni ye kawan2... I prepared the stuffing while fasting, so I couldn't taste them. Wanted to fry some on time for Iftar. Hasben helped with the frying. He bit excitedly across the crunchy popiah skin... And made a scrunched up face followed by a wiggly dance. At that moment on, I knew that it was a big mistake to put the fried suon! It probably had gone bad but I wasn't sure. It did smell a bit weird though. The fried suon was given to me by Dura, leftovers from one of her parties. And me, always challenging myself to use up all the hand-me-downs ingredients thought it was a good idea to made this suon popiah. HAH! FAILED BIG TIME! Now, everytime I burped, I can taste it. Dep
