Getting Too Smart!

Image
Kimi and Afi are getting so smart now! We were playing a game where I gave them a scenario, and asked them how they would react. For example: Me: If a girl say, ‘can you be my boyfriend?’ What are you going to answer? Kimi: No thanks. And suddenly Afi said it was his turn to ask a question. Afi: Ibu, if a boy say ‘I like you’ and ask you to go to the airport so you can fly somewhere, what are you going to say? Me: Hmm... where are we travelling to? Afi: Malaysia  Me: No thanks, I have been there many times. Kimi: Ibu, you should say, ‘No.. I’m married!!’ LOL These smart boys with their dinosaur art gallery. It’s bedtime, but they decided to get creative now.. pfftt...

Crochet Baby Accessories

Image
For an amateur, I find crocheting garments very challenging, especially to get the perfect sizing. I realised that the size of the yarn plays a crucial role in determining the size of the end product. The tutorials that I have been following may have used a thicker yarn compared to the ones that I have because I kept getting a smaller version of whatever is being crocheted. But this was not mentioned in the tutorials... I guess I have to study more on this... Anyways, right before the date of my planned delivery, I managed to make 2 matching baby headbands - one for my baby girl and the other for JuliZac's. Thank god it fitted Aya well! And my latest project is this red sun hat, with the purple flower embellishment. It would fit a newborn  better than Aya who is already 1 month old. Babies grow so fast! I have this up for sale on my eBay shop which I feel would suit smaller babies or even dollies. Now that would be adorable!

The Nesting Instinct 2!

Image
Oh wow... Writing more than 1 post in a week. So proud of myself, LOL. It is so important for me to document all these little events in my life for future reference but I am just getting lazier and lazier. But here I am, full of energy, fingers on the keyboard and ready to write! Previously, I mentioned that I am just super excited to beautify our home and have done quite a few changes in just 3 months. One of them is changing the colour scheme of our dining chairs from red to black! Basically, the old and new chairs look the same - only the colour and pattern is different... haha! New and old - same right? Initially, that did not go too well with Hasben because he just could not see the point. But Amart Furnitures had a massive 1-day sale on their Funk Chairs - from $45 to just $10 per chair, limited to 2 chairs per customer. I woke everyone up at 8 AM and after successfully persuaded Hasben that it was absolutely necessary to change the chairs, we went to the Amart by 9.30 A...

My Nesting Instinct!

Image
I am currently at my 36 weeks of pregnancy! And the nesting hormone has kicked-in to full speed! I have been redecorating the house, buying some new appliances, rearranging the furniture, and even brought out my sewing machine for some projects. The thing is, when you already have 3 boys, all your hard work seems to last only 1 day. The house just can't stay clean and tidy, and it is driving me insane sometimes, while mostly, I have just decided to accept my faith... An IKEA clock shelf that I have been eyeing since 2010. We finally bought it in October 2019 from Gumtree! Anyway, while changing the cushion cover on our lounge, I noticed that the fillers were coming out from some of the torn cushions. This one is the worst: On the spot, I whipped out my sewing machine, sacrificed Kimi's worn-out doona cover, and covered the whole cushion. As you can see, Hasben's previous attempt was to tape the holes with Fragile Tape! That particular cushion will definitely b...

Chipmunks Playland & Cafe, Toowoomba

Image
Date: 4th October 2019 The school holidays is nearly over. Have promised Kimi for a couple of months now to bring him and his brothers to a playland for his achievement on finishing his Muqaddam and advancing to the ‘adult Quran’. As we arrived, he had a peek from the front door and immediately his eyes lit up!! Long story short, none of them even stopped for a rest. Hasben was also very tired as he had to monitor Adi the whole time. Burn those excess energy kids! The way they were sweating, I think we got our money’s worth :D The big slide, definitely everyone’s favourite. Kids from 5 to 11 years. For the under 5’s. Cafe for the parents. A good spot for them to have a little rest.

Warning: Good Mom Alert!

Image
Yesterday, Kimi's second tooth was removed by the dentist at Brushland, Toowoomba. It was all drama as usual so Hasben promised him that he can choose a special toy tonight, after we had our 'buy 1 free 1' meals at the new Toowoomba Paparich. The 3 Lions looking for toys at Kmart. So when we arrived home with the new toy, a track for battery operated cars  that glows in the dark (which I did not approved, by the way. It was Hasben's idea), it was already bed time.  K: Ibu, help me fix this track. Me: No, it's already night. We need to sleep now. K: You need to be a good mom and help me fix this track. Me: What?? Are you saying I'm not a good mom?? K: No... but I'm just warning you to be a good mom... (he was just whining, not threatening) I wanted to laugh but had to focus on being strict. The vocabulary is good but can be misleading... haha! And as for Afi: A: When I big, I am going to drive a plane actually. It's easy. ...

When Kids Start Asking Tricky Questions

Image
This morning, while I was packing Kimi's lunch and washing the dishes, Kimi was eating his breakfast with his brothers on the bar, looking at me quietly. He usually has cereal but as we have ran out of milk, Kimi was dunking his biscuits into a cup of Horlick - not a popular drink here but one of my favourites, so much so that my mom brought it all the way from Malaysia - love her to bits! Bought these bar chairs (Chairs&More) from Gumtree last weekend, made my morning routines so much easier. I can monitor the boys better this way.  Then, he suddenly asked: K: Ibu, who I'm going to marry? Me: I don't know. It's one of God's secrets. You will know when you grow bigger. K: But I want to know. I think I'm going to marry a Malaysian girl. Me: Maybe. K: How do you know you're going to marry Abah? Me: Because he was not lazy. So I thought to myself, I can marry him because he can help with the kids. Girls don't like lazy boys. So you ...

My Anniversary Baby =D

Image
How time flies. I just can't keep up with my blogging anymore, mainly due to using iPhone 6 as it is near impossible to blog on this device, unlike my previous Samsung Note 4. So now we are entering the second month of 2017... which means my 3rd bundle of joy is about to turn 1 month old! My pregnancy was not as smooth sailing as the previous 2. The effects of my low blood pressure was really obvious this time around, I could not even fast more than a week during Ramadhan. I had never faced any difficulties in fasting while pregnant before. Even my GP made this comment: I don't know why, but I feel your pregnancy is very long . He should know as he kept on sending me to the pathology for iron studies and a swab test due to an influenza infection. During my third trimester, 5th December 2016 to be exact, I had my first iron infusion. This was supposed to help boost my iron levels and hopefully, will give me a better chance of not fainting during labour. I did nearly ...
