Colbie Caillat: You Got Me

Image
This is a theme song from the 2010 movie Leap Year which I have only just watched yesterday (and again, today). It is the usual romantic comedy - gorgeous Irishman with a beautiful accent (I am still feeling lovey-dovey like a love struck teenager, which is healthy for a bored mom, haha!) but the one thing that made me awestruck was the beautiful scenery of Dingle, Ireland. Seriously, I have no idea if I can go there someday but it is in my list of Places-To-Go! By the way, apparently, the leap year tradition is real - a woman can propose to a man on the 29th of February without being rejected... HAH! If only...! Pix from here You're stuck on me and my laughing eyes I can't pretend though I try to hide I like you, I like you I think I felt my heart skip a beat I'm standing here and I can hardly breathe You got me yeah, you got me The way you take my hand is just so sweet And that crooked smile of yours It knocks me off my feet # Oh, I just c

Rattle Ball!

Image
My First 2013 Project! Kimi loves playing with the ball I made him, now that he is a bit older. This made mommy so happy and triggered her to make another one!!! This time, I made a small sized one, using the same pattern from purlbee.com . I also added some buttons in plastic bottle caps to provide some rattling sound as the ball rolls. To cute-sify the ball, I sew on yellow buttons. However, this attracted my lil-one to chew on them which I believe are hazardous if the buttons were accidentally torn away. Hopefully he will leave the buttons alone... Hopefully...! A half-ball cap!

Mount Tamborine, Gold Coast

Image
Date: 12 January 2013 It was about 32 deg C and I was wearing 2 layers of black shirt... Superb! Anyways, we started our journey at 8 in the morning and made our first stop at Mount Tamborine signboard for a group photo. We were tempted by a few "Garage Sales" signs but managed to avoid them (Good Job!). While we were busy posing, another car stopped for pictures too and not-so-surprisingly, they were 2 Kelantanese men. They were not really excited to see fellow Malaysians because, I guess, Malaysians are everywhere here in the Gold Coast. Unlike if you were somewhere in the US, due to small population of Malays, it is something exciting to bump into a fellow countrymen (Source: Mom). Our first destination was the Glow Worm tour. What makes this tour different than the one in Springbrook is that: 1) You don't have to wait until night time so it is perfect for visitors with time constraint (they close at 5PM). 2) No jungle trekking required thus is perfectly sa

Laurel Bank Park, Toowoomba

Image
Date: 29 December 2012 This park is located quite close to the city. We always pass by it on our way to Clifford Garden Shopping Centre but after a year in Toowoomba, we decided to explore it and have some photo shoots. The park provides 1 BBQ shelter for the public, a playground, a rose garden, and a little observation tower. We also found Thomas the Engine with a body of a hedge! Adorable! Definitely a good place to spend the evening with family and friends. Oh yeah, during Carnival of Flowers back in September, free open-air cinema was held here at night and this year, the movie aired was The Muppets, followed by awesome firework displays to mark the end of the festival. Back then, it was too dark for us to enjoy the park though.

Ice Blended Mango!

Image
This is one of my favourite drinks... Fresh mango blended with ice! I nearly always order it when eating out in Malaysia. Here in Australia, mangoes are summer fruits. They are a bit bigger and redder than Malaysian mangoes, but just as juicy. Now that summer is ending, you can buy mangoes at a cheaper price. Anyways, I was just writing to show-off (haha!) my homemade mango blend which cured a bit of my homesick-ness. It took longer to make as compared to drinking it, but definitely worth it! Sluuurrppppp.... (Notice my tumblers? They are some of my Boxing Day shopping conquest from Myers... Made the mango blends 5x more yummy! *winks*).

My 28th Birthday!

Image
Date: 23 November 2012 Well, it is expected that I write about my New Year 2013 celebration or resolutions, but since I have been procrastinating on sooo many stories, I'll just have to go with my birthday for today's entry. As a child, birthdays are something exciting and a day to look forward to. As you become older (literally!), it is a day you would rather pretend did not exist... Haha... Although I am far from my family and friends, Facebook is a perfect medium for the birthday wishes to reach me, thus pretending that this day did not exist was quite impossible. So here I am, trying to remember how I turned 28 - more than 1 month ago. Hasben was very enthusiastic to make this day as memorable as possible. He forced me to name a gift, no belated gifts, he said, as it would not be as special. Bless his heart... The truth is, he was fed-up that I could not remember what he got for me last year because I requested to postpone until I found what I wanted - and until now, I
