Going to Our First Garage Sale...

We are still looking for a house to rent. Kak Ramiza and family have been sooo kind to let us stay with her until we find one. The renting process is very elaborate here, not as simple like in Malaysia.


We tagged along our new friends to visit about 7 garage sales today. Aussies love having garage sales to get rid of their unwanted items or to move out. This is the chance for us 'poor' folks to grab some basic items at extremely low prices.

4) Tupperware plates & jug - AUD5
5) Baby cot blanket - AUD5
6) Heater - AUD8
7) Dustbin - AUD2
8) Baby jumper - AUD1
9) Football boot - AUD1
10) 3 laundry basket - AUD1


Can't wait for next weekend! Going to garage sales has become a habit of Malaysian students in Toowoomba. It is a must every weekend!

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia.
