A New Year 2014

Goodbye 2013...

The fireworks display in Toowoomba is such an anticipated event. Every 31st December, we have 2 countdowns, one at 7.40 PM and the other one is at 12.00 AM. This is a great way to give the family with kids the opportunity to enjoy the fireworks. Very thoughtful and a brilliant idea! Each fireworks display last for about 10 minutes. And this year, we went to Queens Park on time (unlike last year, we only made it to the parking lot, haha!) and guess what, Kimi was scared of the noise. Funny little man... It was a great night out!

Bald Rock National Park, NSW

Date : 3rd November 2013 Bald Rock is a 3-hours drive from Toowoomba and I have been thinking of visiting it since last year. But I was not sure if it was a suitable trip for an infant. However, it is the largest granite monolith in Australia, which means it is a must-go! So best buds, Julie Zac and Zayra came to visit on 1st November. Was not sure where to bring them around Toowoomba. Oh well, let's try hiking then! Sunscreen for everyone!: At first, I was thinking of bringing Kimi's stroller through the Bungoona Walk. The Summit Direct Walk would be out of the question. A lady who just got down advised that it was not a good idea... And thank God for that... (What was I thinking??!) Finally finished my first baby headband made using crochet. Took me forever but was amazed that I could actually do it. Haven't got a girl model so opt to use this boy model instead, hihi ;p This one is for baby Iman :)

Book: Sushi for Beginners

The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism.
