Tabletop Mountain, Toowoomba, QLD.

Just got back from hiking up Tabletop Mountain, and it wasn't easy. Went with WinZie, leaving the kids with Hasben at home. This has got to be the toughest bushwalking I have ever experienced. Not suitable for my 4 year old son, nor his 1 year old brother!

So this sisterly trip started at 7.30am and it took us an hour to reach the top. My stamina was really bad, I was panting the whole way up.

Parked our car at Tabletop Drive, and was so enthusiastic:


The climb was really steep, even from the very beginning of the track:


About half an hour of hiking, I initially thought we were nearly there:

Apparently, we only just made it over this 'little' hill:


This is the foot of the actual Tabletop Mountain (long way to go!):


We had to climb over more rocks before finally reaching the top. Had a view of the giant Australian flag at Picnic Point and the highway up Toowoomba Range:

We were not as enthusiastic to start our journey down, scary path ahead!

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia.
