Innsbruck

After visiting Verona, it was time for us to leave Italy and visit the next country, Austria.

Yeah!! We're here! Innsbruck - The town at the foot of the Alps!

Our stay in Austria was very short. We arrived there in the evening, the sun was already starting to set. However, it was a very beautiful place - I think it's my most favourite town for the entire trip. I love how it is located in the broad valley between high mountains. The snow capped mountains standing very close to the town is a very spectacular sight indeed!


Our first picture taking moment was with the famous Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) which was not exactly made of gold. It was constructed for Emperor Maximilian  in the 1500.


Next we visited the house of Leopold Mozart - the father to the famous musician, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!


And of course, for shoppers, the must-visit Swarovski shop - the largest in the world.


The shop was decorated with winter and Christmas theme for the holidays.

It was difficult to get beautiful shots as the sun sets further behind the Alps... but we did our best!

When we can no longer see the beautiful mountains (too dark)... it was time to have our dinner in a chinese restaurant.

Our hotel room was as cute and cosy as the town itself. Very old fashioned... love it!

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! This time around, Prince Court is not in the picture - being full-time students, we can only afford to attend Toowoomba Base Hospital, a government hospital so this will be a whole new experience for me, not to mention being in a whole different country! Book: Sushi for Beginners

Date: 24 December 2010 Author: Marian Keyes She is definitely one of my favourite authors ever. The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia. Date: 14 May 2011 Upon arrival...   Hi Mr Sean/Chin! We were greated by Ms Candy who showed us to our maxi taxi. The driver was Mr Sean/Chin (didn't quite get his name) who was from Cancun, China.
