Euro Trip - Italy

Honeymoon - Part 2

Date: 12 February 2010

Rome

We crossed the border between Vatican City back into Rome. The next destination was one of the 7 wonders of the world - The Colosseum! All of a sudden, it started to snow heavily... thank God I had a water-proof camera. Our tour guide, Mr. Tan said that snowing is not a common thing in Rome, so we were lucky to experience this rare event. But not so lucky was, our pictures didn't turn out too good.

The Snowy Colosseum!

Hasben, "Snow!!!! Weehu..!! Wowwee!!!"

Afterwards, Mr. Tan said: SHOPPING TIME! much to the delight of the ladies in the tour group. Due to the fact that our money was well spent on the trip in the first place, shopping means 'poverty'. So instead, Hasben and I went looking for Hard Rock Cafe and sight-seeing in the city of Rome.

Trevi Fountain

We got a bit lost... Hard Rock Cafe... where are you?~~

Here I am~~

View of Rome from The Spanish Steps

When in Rome, do as the Romans do
Hasben hanging out with Italian Performers... a bit too cosy with the lady, hmm~

Florence

We stayed here for the night.

Pasta E Fagioli for lunch - me no likey! I ate nasi sambal ikan bilis tapau from Malaysia instead!

We were up early for our trip to Florence, to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Pisa is located at Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles). In an engineering point of view, there is nothing wonderous about this tower, just a bad judgment of foundation design. However, it is still standing, or shall I say leaning strong until today - so kudos to the ancient designers!

Next, we went to Piazelle Michelangelo where there's a copied statue of the naked King David. Here, we can view the entire City of Florence... spectacular!

Italy is the birth place of Pinnochio!

The Peanut Heads at The Old Bridge during Sunset!

Venice

On our way to Venice!

Lunch: Margeritta Pizza - The yummiest ever, fresh from its motherland, Italy! In pink Tupperware is our nasi sambal ikan bilis, hihi~

This time of the year, people of Venice were celebrating Carnevale, a festival in Europe where people in costumes and masks wanders the city, parade, sings etc. I was very lucky to be able to experience this celebration. There were sooooooo many people and this makes it hard for picture taking. There was a high chance to get lost in the crowd!

Masquerade Masks

Is Casanova looking at me?

Soo cute... a family of bears!!

Romantic Gondola ride... the Gondolier (driver) even sang an Italian song - he must be bored.

The view of the canals!

Murano glass - so pretty. We bought the cheapest one, haha!

Verona

At the old city wall!

Today was our last day in Italy. We were scheduled to travel to Austria. However, Mr. Tan suggested that we stopped by Verona, the home of the real Romeo and Juliet. In the movie "Letters to Juliet", there is a mailbox for Juliet. Anyone who wished to write a letter to her, on problems regarding love, can do so here. When I was there, I didn't see the mailbox though... However, the part where people touching Juliet-the-statue's right boob was real! They say it will bring luck. The most powerfull boob in the universe, I guess!

Juliet's Balcony~

OMG! Hasben The Pervert! Cropped out his cheaky face!~

Yesterday was Valentine's Day... so everything was decorated with hearts.

At an ice-cream shop. Italian ice-cream is really yummy. Everyone must try, even cheapskates like us, haha!

Eating ice-cream before going back on the road.
Mine: White Chocolate
Hasben's: Fererro Roche (more yummier!)
