Kimi's Handmade Kopiah

Funny how depression can be used as a reason to not do any actual PhD work, whilst a hobby like crocheting and sewing is considered okay ^_^. I guess, to distract oneself from over-thinking, it is best to do something you really enjoy. It works well for me!

My crochet needle was summoned after being in my sewing box for nearly a year. I tried searching for a kopiah tutorial but could not find any. So this was a product of my 'hentam keromo'. Not perfect, but it was a productive tension-releaser.


This little model kept taking off the kopiah and throwing it on the floor... Erkkk...

A part from the kopiah, I managed to modify my oversized round table cloth - making it smaller, squarish, and added a red border. I know, they don't match, but is it not colour blocking season? I hope this is still in style, ahaks!

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! This time around, Prince Court is not in the picture - being full-time students, we can only afford to attend Toowoomba Base Hospital, a government hospital so this will be a whole new experience for me, not to mention being in a whole different country! The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia.
