Date: 6-10/09/2013 Day 1: Had a last minute meeting with my SV in the morning and miscalculated the ETA to Gold Coast Airport. With traffic jams near the entrance to Toowoomba and in Gold Coast, it could not be any worse! Hasben was trying to drive as 'efficiently' as possible and with constant praying, we made it just in the nick of time to the boarding gate. We were the second last passengers to board the plane. To be honest, I was expecting to be going back to Toowoomba, but... Alhamdulillah... Seriously, we never learn! Arrived at about 6PM in Hobart. What? The temperature was nearly the same as Toowoomba (which was predicted) but the wind was sooo unexpected! Left my jacket in the car at Gold Coast and the rest of my luggage contained 'spring-y' outfits. The locals were in their winter gears. Bad judgement, again... Hobart Airport Picked up our rental car and checked-in to the B&B: Edinburgh Gallery. Was still thankful and a bit awed that we actual...

4 X Birthday Partay!

Image
Spring, I Like! Today is a public holiday and a great day for a combo birthday party. Hasben, Shasha and Hafiz share the same birthday (but different years) while Kimi's is just a day later. We had a makan-makan at Laurel Bank Park and took the opportunity to enjoy the flowers. Woke up early to bake this cake which magically turned  into a brownie... Another cake by Kak Ramiza, the pro baker. Hers did not magically turn into anything else. Made the sign thingy last week. Very unattractive but did not want to miss the current trend. Just wished I was more creative to make the moustache and glasses. Everybody was being sporting for the photoshoot. And these are some flower pictures I managed to snap while chasing Kimi half the park! Exhausted! Spring is the best! Colourful, cheerful and the weather is awesome! Here is the little man now after too much partying (or running):

Hodgsonvale Park

Less than 2 weeks from now, we will be celebrating Eid Adha and the little Malaysian community here needs a BBQ picnic to discuss the event - because discussing through WhatsApp is just too mainstream, haha. So anyway, public BBQ facilities are literally everywhere in Australia. This time around, we lepak-ed at Hodgsonvale, just a few Kilometres outside Toowoomba. Our typical BBQ picnic will usually be like this: Men and boys do the cooking. Women and girls sit on the picnic tables, discussing world events (or the latest Korean drama), and wait for the food to be served. This is the only time when us ladies can be lazy and get away with it :o) Kids play at the playground. But with Kimi still in transition phase, from baby to an independent kid, it is quite hard to be alert at all times while stuffing my face. He thinks he is one of the big kids, but at certain time, quite unstable to do all the running and climbing. When the sun finally sets, it is time ...

The Green Milk

Image
This is one of those pointless and jakun entry but still impressive (for me, anyway). I have seen white milk (obviously), brown for chocolate and pink for strawberry (who hasn't?), and the occasional yellow for banana and purple for berry. But I discovered here in Australia, they have green milk! The flavour? Not mint but LIME! It actually tasted like dishwashing liquid, I imagine, not that I have ever drank any. Cool stuff... - Blogging on the go!

The Full Moon

Image
Date : 13 Zulkaedah 1434H I've always thought that Mr. Moon and Mr. Sun had an agreement: You get the night sky and daytime is mine. Apparently, on some special days, Mr. Moon would come and visit us earlier than usual. We are currently in the middle of the lunar month, where the moon is full and round.  And tonight, as I peeked through my window, I was a bit suprised to see the usually pitch-black backyard was visible. Could it be that the neighbours were having a BBQ? Nope, it was Mr. Moon, looking glorious and stunning!
