Euro Trip - Belgium

Honeymoon - Part 8

Date: 21 February 2010

Brussels

We left Holland and headed to Belgium. Our stay in Belgium was really short, just enough to roam the city of Brussels.

Atomium

First, we had a photo stop at Atomium, originally built for Expo '58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair... Hasben and I took so long that we were the last to board the bus. Although the Atomium is only one monument, we had many different poses with it.. hehe!

Grand Place

In Brussels, we visited the Grand Place, considered to be the most beautiful town square in Europe. The buildings were Gothic and there were painters selling paintings at the square. During spring, the square will be decorated with flowers - I'm sure that will be more beautiful.

The beautiful paintings!

We went shopping for... wait for it... Belgium chocolates! Said to be really good... we bought boxes of it (which melted in the plane ride back home!!)...

Mouth watering free samples!!

Next, we visited the iconic Meneken Pis, a statue of a little boy peeing into the fountain... what a rsacal!

Meneken Pis!

I forced Hasben to do this, poor boy!

Afterwards, we bought some souvenirs and walked around the shop lots... I saw a Kipling shop with discounts, but too bad it was closed.

Hasben paying for stuff..

Window shop from a distance!

Goodbye Brussels, we're leaving for Paris next!
