My First Popiah Kecik!

Weekend of Boredom!

Life can be a bit slow especially in weekends at Paka. JulieZac is at her parents', my family is so far away in the west coast, and I have only Hasben to listen to my naggings. Just by looking at a durian pic posted by a friend in FB had caused me to crave for them... Yumminess!

Anyway, back to the story of Little Popiah. After being offered a popiah simpul inti serunding by an offismate, I was determined to make my very first popiah kecik. Hasben helped out and we ended up with popiah inti sadin with really ugly shapes! Haha! It shows how boredom can spark 'creative' innovations!

My first try - I don't know how to simpul it!! The ugliest popiah in the world!

I successfully simpul-ed the popiah but it's huge!

To make life easy, I decided to just fold it.

Our final design - little triangle popiah. Cute and yummy! SUCCESS!!

Kimi will be 3 soon and guess what, he is also a newly-appointed big brother! Book: Sushi for Beginners

Date: 24 December 2010 Author: Marian Keyes She is definitely one of my favourite authors ever. The first book from her that I read was Under the Duvet, and the second was The Other Side of The Story - both I borrowed from UTM's library. She writes about characters with real life issues and manage to make the situation light although it's actually a dark topic. At the end of the day, readers will learn about complicated issues without feeling depressed. She delivers the message and adds humor to it - just brilliant! Plus, I learned a few Irish words! Sushi for Beginners is about the lives of 3 different ladies, all facing depressions. Different characters have a different coping mechanism. Synopsis: Lisa, a beautiful, career oriented lady is the b*tch boss from hell. She'll do whatever it takes to be the best at what she does, even if it means having no friends and family. Melbourne Weekend Getaway! Date: 13 May 2011 It is not often you hear someone say, "I'm going to Australia just for the weekend". However, it actually happened to me, not intentionally, but accidentally... I booked my flight ticket (in August 2010 for the lowest fare possible!!) without double checking and ended up with only 2 full days to spend in Melbourne. To make the best of it, I pre-booked full day tours for both days... which left out any opportunity for Melbourne city sight-seeing - how sad! From LCCT, KLIA to Melbourne Airport, it took about 8 hours flight - which I can't sleep for most part of it!! - and the time difference is plus 2 hours from Malaysia.
