Me & Wedding!

How time flies! It has been exactly a year since my big day... the day that changed my life forever. From an irresponsible care-free girl, to an irresponsible care-free wife! Ahaks... Today, I want to walk down memory lane and reminisce about the day Hasben said, "I accept her as my wife and promise to buy anything she wants!"

"I agree..." He signed without reading the terms and condition.

7 January 2010, exactly 3 years together and after 1 year of being engaged - we tied the knot! After Maghrib prayers, the Tok Kadi came to my house for the sacred ceremony. I had my maroon "Pari-Pari"s a.k.a my dear girlfriends sitting around me... we were busy chatting and taking pictures during the Kutbah.

Tok Kadi: Pengantin perempuan, tolong dengar ye... (Bride, please listen.)

How embarrassing!

After Hasben finished his prayer, we were supposed to do the ring exchange event. However, Dad and Dad-In-Law were not present... Missing in action! I was like, "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!"

When we finally found the Dads, everything went smoothly... we exchanged rings, Hasben gave me my dowry, and we did the k*ss thingy...~ (Too embarrasse to type it properly). Next, we went to KLCC for our outdoor photoshoot.

I'm so glad all went well but am not sure I would like to turn back time and do it all over again... the wedding planning was just too exhausting. Not to mention decorating the hantaran and the brides's room... However, it was worth every minute!

Bald Rock National Park, NSW

Date : 3rd November 2013 Bald Rock is a 3-hours drive from Toowoomba and I have been thinking of visiting it since last year. But I was not sure if it was a suitable trip for an infant. However, it is the largest granite monolith in Australia, which means it is a must-go! So best buds, Julie Zac and Zayra came to visit on 1st November. Was not sure where to bring them around Toowoomba. Oh well, let's try hiking then! Sunscreen for everyone!: At first, I was thinking of bringing Kimi's stroller through the Bungoona Walk. The Summit Direct Walk would be out of the question. A lady who just got down advised that it was not a good idea... And thank God for that... (What was I thinking??!) We had a plate of fried rice each at the picnic table to fuel us with energy! The best thing was, my 2 year old son was just as excited as the adults. Arabic Letters - Dal, Dzal, Raa and Zai

The Toowoomba Mosque has finally started construction. As you might be aware, it was subjected to an arson attack a couple of years back. So currently, efforts have been undertaken to raise funds for rebuilding the burnt mosque, and one of the ways is through Fundraising Dinners. We have attended last year's event at Brisbane. This year, it was held at Darling Height States School and the outcome was positive, with an estimated AUD200,000 raised. Anyway, for our Madrasah class, we are now learning and trying to memorise the letters Dal, Dzal, Raa and Zai. These are the Banana Letters. Dal and Dzal are the little bananas , while Raa and Zai are the big bananas . As of yesterday, my students still did not remember them, and they even forgot the ones they learnt before...
